Dr. Jessica Mormando is a board-certified general and bariatric surgeon and the founder of New Horizon Surgical Consulting, PLLC. She completed her Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston before joining Tennova Hospital in Clarksville, Tennessee as an attending general and bariatric surgeon — a position she held for over three years. Most recently, she served on the surgical staff at Vanderbilt Clarksville.
Dr. Mormando is Intuitive robotic-certified and performs the full spectrum of general and bariatric procedures with a strong emphasis on minimally invasive and laparoscopic approaches. Her research background includes two peer-reviewed publications in the Journal of Thoracic Disease and the Journal of Robotic Surgery, and she has presented at national surgical and osteopathic conferences.
Through New Horizon Surgical Consulting, Dr. Mormando provides locum tenens surgical coverage to hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers, and serves as a qualified expert witness and medical case reviewer for legal matters involving surgical standards of care.
